Ambience ECommerce Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions govern the supply, installation, and ongoing maintenance of air conditioning units provided by Ambience ECommerce.
Delivery of Goods Purchased on www.ambiencesa.co.za
Any units purchased for DELIVERY ONLY will incur delivery costs which is dependent on distance from Midrand in Guateng.
Quotations & Pricing
All quotations provided by Ambience ECommerce are valid for a period of 14 days. We retain the right to adjust pricing for promotional items after the offer has expired or for products that require a special order. All prices are subject to product availability, as stock levels can fluctuate.
Sales & Installation Process
- To secure an installation date, a deposit of 70% is required upon acceptance of the quote. For deliveries exceeding a 50km radius or for large commercial orders, a higher deposit may be requested.
- Our standard installation includes the mounting of the indoor unit on a suitable external wall and the placement of the outdoor unit directly opposite or adjacent to it, on a back-to-back basis.
- The quoted installation price is exclusive of additional services such as patching, painting, concrete drilling, extended trunking, supplementary copper piping, additional cabling, condensate pumps, and electrical supply from the main distribution board (DB). These will be quoted for separately if required.
- Please note that condensate pumps are not covered under our standard warranty, as they can be susceptible to damage from power surges and other external factors.
- Electrical connection is not included in the standard price. Our technicians will connect the unit to an existing, suitable electrical source within a 3-meter range.
Warranties
- All units are supplied with a 1-year comprehensive warranty and a 5-year compressor warranty, contingent upon an annual maintenance service performed by a qualified Ambience ECommerce technician. Samsung Inverter units carry a 10-year compressor warranty.
- To keep all warranties valid, the unit must be serviced at least once per year by Ambience ECommerce.
- We recommend bi-annual maintenance for residential units and quarterly maintenance for commercial applications.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to contact us to schedule these maintenance services.
- Warranties are void if the installed unit is incorrectly sized for the room. A correct load calculation is essential for warranty validation.
- Only Ambience ECommerce approved technicians are authorised to service units supplied by us. Any intervention by a third-party technician will invalidate all warranties.
- Remote controls are not covered under the unit’s warranty due to the potential for external damage. Replacement will only be provided if an inherent defect is confirmed by our technician at the time of installation.
- No warranties are provided for spares or units not supplied directly by Ambience ECommerce.
Payment & Ownership
- All goods and units remain the sole property of Ambience ECommerce until the full outstanding balance has been settled.
- Should full payment not be received within 7 days of installation, we reserve the right to reclaim the installed unit(s).
Liability & Site Requirements
- Ambience ECommerce will not be held liable for any damages resulting from unit malfunctions, particularly for units installed above sensitive equipment (e.g., servers, electronics, furniture, or artwork). The customer accepts full liability for such potential damages and absolves Ambience ECommerce of any responsibility.
- For installations requiring work at heights exceeding 5 meters, the customer will be responsible for the cost of scaffolding. Alternatively, the outdoor unit may need to be positioned at a lower, safer level for our technicians and for future maintenance access.
- The customer is responsible for arranging a certified electrician to provide a dedicated electrical circuit from the distribution board, including a legally compliant isolator switch.
- Packaging materials from the installed units may be left at the customer’s premises for their disposal or retention.
General Policies
- Ambience ECommerce reserves the right to amend prices without prior notification.
- We reserve the right to cancel any order if a customer is verbally abusive, uses discriminatory language, or is derogatory towards our staff.
- A unit will only be considered for replacement once the manufacturer’s representative has conducted a site visit and confirmed a factory fault. Any associated call-out fees from the supplier will be billed to the customer.
- Fault-finding and service call-outs will be scheduled within 3-5 working days after payment for the service has been received.
Call-Out Fees
Call-out fees will be applicable in the following circumstances:
- For the replacement of spare parts (after the initial 1-year comprehensive warranty period, a call-out fee applies even for warranted spares).
- For any aesthetic changes to the installation after the job card has been signed and approved by the customer.
- For service visits to locations more than 40km from our central warehouse.
- If the customer changes the agreed installation location after work has commenced, resulting in additional labour.
- If a unit has been serviced or tampered with by a technician not approved by Ambience ECommerce.
